With the silly season well and truly in full swing and the founder of Australia’s #1 online fitness and nutrition program, I’m often asked if it’s possible to stay in shape over Christmas. The good news is: yes! You don’t have to sacrifice your Christmas pudding, you CAN have your cake and eat it too over the Christmas season.

The average Australian gains at least 2kgs over Christmas, but this doesn’t have to be you!

Most people think those extra festive kilos are easy to lose once the silly season is over, but the truth is, the majority of people never lose the extra Christmas weight, at all. Staying healthy over the festive season is no easy feat, but it is possible.

How to avoid gaining extra kilos over Christmas

There are a few key tips that I share with the members of my 28 Program to help them avoid that silly season weight gain:

  1. Practice mindful eating (and drinking!)
  2. Stay hydrated!
  3. Make sure you’re catching enough zzz’s during this busy time
  4. Don’t arrive hungry to an event
